STEMOstmann Elementary began its second annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Olympics. Students in Kdg, 2nd and 3rd grade competed in December. Students in 1st, 4th and 5th grade competed in January. Each classroom participated in STEM competitions during their scheduled library class.  Students worked in small groups and were challenged to engineer a product with specific materials in a constrained amount of time. The challenge was different for each grade level. The group from each grade level with the best score is invited to represent Ostmann Elementary at the 2nd Annual Fort Zumwalt School District STEM challenge. Students in Kindergarten-3rd grade will compete February 21, 5:30-8:00 PM at Progress South Elementary. Students in 4th and 5th grade will compete March 6th, 5:30-8:00 PM at South Middle School.  Grade levels will complete STEM activities in a competition format with other grade level teams from other elementary schools in the district. Winners of the district challenge will have the opportunity to go on to the St. Charles County-Wide S.T.E.M. Competition. Good Luck Explorers! See the flyer for details.
